Are you looking for advanced non-violent resistance (NVR) training?

This training and award provides an in-depth knowledge of how you can use Connective Parenting NVR with all families. There’s absolutely no ‘one size fits all’ – we don’t believe that works.

Throughout the training we’ll teach you how to adapt the approach to suit each family you work with.  It can help any family whatever their needs, because we teach it as a framework that’s adapted to meet the need.

To support you in doing that, we teach you the foundations of Connective Parenting NVR first.  Then we look at how developmental trauma, attachment, neurodivergence, multi-stressed families and sensory development impact how you might share the approach with families and how you can adapt it as we move through our advanced training.  We also look at how the approach can be used in schools.

We don’t focus on short-term ‘quick fixes’ but longer-term solutions that empower parents and help bring around long-term change.

Advance your professional skills and experience:

  • Gain an in-depth knowledge of the approach

“The Level 3 qualification has given me the confidence to deliver group work and 1-1 support for families.

I completed the Level 3 course in April 2022 and have been using it within my workplace ever since.

It has transformed how I support parents to bring about positive changes for a calmer household. The basic NVR principles allow parents to find what works for them, whilst giving me a framework to coach them with.

The addition of specialist trainers in sensory occupational therapy, child mental health and NVR within schools was also really useful to expand my knowledge about how to support families within a wider context of their child’s needs.

Having delivered different parenting programs as a Social Worker, I would encourage professionals to look at Connective Parenting NVR as a priority for those parents willing to commit to doing things differently.

Who is this training is for?

The course takes you from our foundation training right through our advanced course to accreditation.

It’s for those who work with families in a professional capacity, whether you work within a Local Authority, charity or private practice.

You might be a:

    • Support Worker
    • Social Worker
    • Therapist
    • Psychologist
    • Education staff
    • Parenting Coach

Or you might be a parent wanting to retrain so that you can work with families in the future. There are no pre-requisites to attending the course.

Why do this training now?

The course starts with our popular Level 1 Foundation training, includes support as you start sharing it with families, our advanced training and ends with a Level 3 qualification in Connective Parenting NVR.  We believe this is the only NVR qualification (rather than accreditation) available in the UK.  It’s definitely the only one in our Connective Parenting NVR approach.

The course is accredited as a customised qualification by the NCFE and as CPD by the ACCPH, a professional body.

If you have already completed Level 1, you can either join us for our advanced training and continue on to complete the qualification (the cost is reduced) or to re-do Level 1.

Throughout the course we look at how you can adapt the Connective Parenting framework to meet the differing needs of the families you work with, and empower parents helping to create independency, potentially reducing the need for support over the longer term.

The course is led by specialists in their field bringing a unique combination of both lived and professional experience.

“Cannot recommend this course enough!

It’s taught me so much! Covers everything – NVR, trauma, attachment, mental health, sensory needs, school. It’s helped me professionally and as a parent and as I am bringing all my knowledge together for the final summary of work, I am realising how embedded connective parenting has become in our home and in the families I work with.”

“This course has been a very valuable addition to my learning and my practice.

As an NVR coach, working 121 with parents and with groups, I am constantly presented with an extraordinary number of different challenges that parents face with their children, whether these are as a result of past trauma, complex attachments or from neurodiversity, or indeed all three. I believe that in order to provide the best possible outcomes for parents, a detailed understanding of these complex needs is essential.”

How the course is structured

There are 10 days of training, all online, with further work required between sessions and an assessment day.

We also include:

  • optional monthly support calls (it is highly recommended that you attend these)
  • a session for those wanting to set up their own business
  • a WhatsApp group for daily support
  • additional resources in an online learning zone

A total of 120 hours of learning is required, with approximately 70 of those outside of the 10 training days at times that suit you.
